The Operations Discipline Advisor (ODA) is responsible for providing expertise in recruiting and developing National Technicians in Azerbaijan and Georgia. We are interested in applicants with mechanical, instrumentation or production discipline expertise. The successful candidate will work closely with Site Leadership, Site Coaches, Assessors and Technicians to assist in all aspects of National Technician development. The goal is to have a positive influence on the Pace of Competency of the National Technician work force to accelerate nationalization of our operations teams.
The ODA also provides support and feedback to the Training Provider delivering the Foundation Training Programs at CTTC with the goal of delivering graduate technicians who have high potential for development to full competency in their role.
This job requires frequent travel to All AzSPU assets – between 50 and 100% of time is spent at sites both on and offshore in Azerbaijan and Georgia.
It is important for the successful candidate to have strong communications and leadership skills with the ability to influence technicians and site leaders.
Key accountabilities
• Deliver CMAS Assessor training and refresher training
• Provide on site coaching to expat and national technicians in all aspects of technician development
• Conduct CMAS face to face and narrative verifications of assessors and provide constructive feedback
• Train site leaders how to conduct CMAS narrative and face to face verifications
• Interview potential new hire technician candidates
• Participate in continuous improvement activities related to technician development
• Make presentations to prospective new hires during information sessions schedule by HR (about the role of a technician in [Company])
• Make presentations to new hires during the on boarding process – explaining the foundation training program, expectations of them plus the support provided to them
• Provide technical expertise and oversight to training staff at CTTC to maintain and improve the foundation training programs
• Participate in the development and implementation of enhanced post foundation training programs.
Essential criteria & qualifications
• Competency assessment in any one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Instrumentation or Production/CRT technician per CMAS profile.
• Conversant with all aspects of CMAS including experience as a Coach and as an Assessor

• Exemplary coaching skills
• Strong English skills -- level 4 English
• Demonstrated Leadership skills
• Require excellent communications skills
• A Passion for people development
• A track record of effective Teamwork & Collaboration
• Interviewing skills/experience
• Experience as a front line operations/maintenance supervisor having previously completed the CMAS technician competencies.
• Ability to coach others, influence others
