The responsibilities of the Pipeline Automation Specialist may include:
- Work with Internal and External customers to identify requirements and then to design and implement automation systems that meet those needs.
- Functionally direct company technicians and supervise contract labor used to construct or enhance automation systems.
- Lead company in awareness of new developments in Technology, and changes in Codes and Standards.
- Apply specialized knowledge to ensure the safety, reliability, and cost effectiveness of technology used to meet business requirements.
- Review specifications, estimates, approval documents and guide project through the funding process.
- Capture best practices and interpret Industry Regulations for introduction into Company Policies and Standards.
- Analyze malfunctioning systems and find safe, expedient and cost effective ways to correct the deficiencies.
- Problem Solving: Identify and correct safety hazards or system flaws that contribute to downtime or inefficient operations.
- Accountability: Responsible for the safety, efficiency and reliability of P&T facility automation systems. Responsible for the execution of projects under their direction.
- Champion change through individual efforts and team leadership or membership.
Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 2 year associate degree in technical field.
- 2 years industry experience programming Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
- Have valid driver's license.
- Able and willing to travel 30% of the time.
- Able and willing to work in harsh weather conditions.
- Expert level understanding and demonstrated ability to program and/or configure automation technology such as: sensors, PID loop control, data communications, and other electrical machines.
Preferred:
- Practical knowledge and experience in application of Company Policy, Industry Standards, Regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to program and/or configure Rockwell Software RSView32 and RSView SE/ME Human-Machine Interace design.
- Familiarity and experience with Pipeline & Terminal business processes and equipment such as mainline motors and engines, pipeline flow measurement equipment, and tank level measurement equipment.
- Ability to progress authorizations for new work though knowledge of budgeting and project approval processes.
- Ability to provide expert assistance to support field technicians' maintenance activities.
- Ability to champion change through individual efforts and team leadership or membership.
- Ability to accept responsibility for the safety, efficiency and reliability of Pipelines &Terminals facility automation systems.
