Key Deliverables of the Chemist:
The Chemist will maintain high levels of quality control and quality assurance that will certify product quality and promote site efficiency. The Chemist will assure the quality of the materials used and product made meet specifications. Additionally the Chemist will provide technical support and guidance to site. The Chemist is responsible for and accountable for all laboratory activities under their direction as well as maintaining ISO 9001, and internal quality (QP&G & DIAF) requirements relating to data generation. The Chemist will contribute to meet customer service commitments. Additional Key Deliverables will include: assuring compliance to all company programs, contributing to meet customer service commitments, and maintaining laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the quality of our products through adherence to quality policies and procedures
Maintain and calibrate equipment systems to support the testing process
Identify testing problems
Ability to understand and perform complex analytical calculations
Set up new tests and associated equipment
Identify equipment that should be replaced and manage its purchase
Inform supervisors of supplier nonconformance
Help respond to Corrective/Preventive Actions
Review test methods for compliance to industry standards
Implement changes to the LIMS database testing and specification tables as required
Compliance to testing procedures as written and support in procedure development applicable quality initiatives
Ability to coach and train technicians on proper analytical techniques and procedures
Support Laboratory goals to meet operational excellence
Aid in meeting quality objectives established in the [Company] quality system
Help with responses to audit findings
Help with responses to Customer Complaints
Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory standards for health, safety and environmental requirements through the compliance to all safety and OIMS programs
Purchase supplies and maintain inventories
Adhere to and Ensure compliance with CIMS (Controls Integrity Management System), including compliance with Data Integrity Assurance Framework through policy communications, procedures, and, as applicable, holding employees and contractors accountable
Key Objectives:
Investigate quality incidents having to do with the laboratory
Manage laboratory cost center expenses
Assure data reliability through adherence to quality objectives
Timely completion of scheduled maintenance and calibration of instrumentation
