Job Description:

[Company] is currently looking for an experienced engineer in Houston, Texas to provide geotechnical engineering technical support and expertise within the Marine Engineering - Fixed Structures and Civil Engineering Function of [Company] Development Company.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide geotechnical engineering expertise to a variety of [Company] development projects worldwide.
- Assist development projects in meeting safety, environmental and capital cost objectives.
- Participate in the development of company and industry standards.
- Provide technical support throughout the development phase of projects from conceptual to final design/execution.
- Develop scope of work for desk studies, develop technical specifications, assist in contractor selection, and assure quality control of contractor's work throughout project execution.
- Provide effective interface with business units, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations.
- Participate in risk management activities to ensure compliance with[Company]’s Operation Integrity Management System expectations.
Technical support is required in the following areas:
- On/Offshore Site Characterization
- Desk studies & geohazard assessment
- Geophysical & geotechnical site investigations
- Design soil parameters for foundations
- On/Offshore Foundation Design
- Driven, grouted & suction piles, anchors, jack-up spudcans, gravity & shallow foundations
- Retaining structures and slope stability
- Settlement evaluations
- Project Support
- Work scope for Pre-FEED & FEED studies
- Design criteria
- Seismic hazard assessment
- Quality surveillance of contractor works
- Pre-installation evaluations (e.g., pile driveability) & on-site monitoring
- Well casing and riser analyses
- Foundation scour and beach erosion protection
- Laboratory and prototype scale model testing
- Site improvement
Required Skills & Experience:
- BS in Civil Engineering
- MS in Geotechnical Engineering
- Industry experience
- Strong technical & analytical skills
- Experience in site investigation and foundation engineering
- Ability to manage and evaluate geotechnical engineering designs
- Familiarity with geotechnical analysis and design software
- Candidates should be self-motivated and focused on achieving business results
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills are essential
- Good communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Post graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering
- At least 5 years of industry experience in similar role
- Flexible to international travel including overseas project assignments
