Job Description:

[Company] is currently looking for an experienced engineer in Houston, TX with experience in concrete and/or steel structures analysis and design to provide technical support and expertise to its Development Company, responsible for technology development and project execution.
Typical Position Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering expertise to a variety of [Company] development offshore projects including fixed platforms (steel and/or concrete GBS), decks, and floating structure topsides.
- Assist development projects in meeting safety, environmental and capital cost objectives.
- Provide technical support throughout the development phase of projects from conceptual to final design/execution.
- Develop scope of work for engineering studies and develop technical specifications.
- Provide effective interface with contractors, business units, and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in risk management activities to ensure compliance with[Company]’s Operation Integrity Management System expectations.
This position requires a high level of interaction with other [Company] disciplines, Project Team members and contractors.
Technical support is required in the following areas:
- Structural engineering in support of projects designed to operate in marine environments including fixed platforms and decks for fixed and floating facilities
- Jackup drilling structures
- Major topside substructures such as drilling rigs
- Review of detailed engineering calculations including fatigue, joint, and seismic analyses
- Review of detailed engineering in support of fabrication, transportation, and installation
Required Skills & Experience:
- BS in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
- Previous experience with both fixed and floating structures required.
- Structural engineering experience must cover a wide variety of offshore projects and technologies.
- Experience in multiple roles of design, assessment, and project management required.
- Candidates should be self-motivated and focused on achieving business results.
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills are essential
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- MS or PhD in Civil Engineering is preferred.
- Concrete GBS design experience desired.
- Experience with advanced structural engineering practices such as seismic analysis, non-linear approaches, and finite element modeling preferred.
- Flexibility for international travel including overseas project assignments is desired
