The successful candidate will work with multi-disciplinary teams that are focused on executing [Company]’s growth plan in the Primrose and Wolf Lake operating areas.
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Area Hydrogeologist will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and execute regional groundwater monitoring programs;
- Monitor fresh and brackish groundwater supply;
- Understand and prepare quaternary Geology;
- Prepare annual regulatory reporting;
- Work with other operators and government on regional initiatives;
- Actively participate in industry meetings; and
- Actively participate in stakeholder open houses.
Candidates must have minimum of a B. Sc in Geology with a specialization in hydrogeology. A minimum of 5 years of petroleum and oilsands related physical and chemical hydrogeology related experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Master’s Degree specializing in hydrogeology. Hydrogeological field experience with a background in hydrogeological consulting is preferred.
Petroleum and oilsands related experience in geological mapping, aquifer testing and analysis, geochemical assessment, analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling and project management is also required.
The successful candidate will be a deliverable-driven team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to take on ever increasing levels of responsibility. This person should be able to work independently and be prepared to make limited day trips.
