The successful candidate will work with multi disciplinary teams that are focused on executing [Company]’s thermal growth plan in the Primrose and Wolf Lake operating areas. The successful candidate will have a track record of proven oilsands expertise combined with superior interpersonal and leadership skills.
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Project Geologist will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare detailed geological mapping of regional trends and specific [Company] assets;
- Assess existing industry thermal projects and identify appropriate analogues, recovery schemes and follow up processes which would be applicable to [Company] projects;
- Communicate key geological concepts to area teams and senior management;
- Mentor and assist junior staff; and
- Participate in development and execution of a long term growth strategy for Primrose and Wolf Lake that maximizes value for [Company] and its shareholders.
Candidates must have minimum of a B. Sc in Geology and a minimum ten years of experience working in an oil and gas production company. Solid interpersonal and leadership skills are also required. The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of Alberta oil sands geology a history of success in developing economic thermal projects.
