The successful candidate will provide leadership within a multi-discipline team to develop [Company]’s Oil Sands Leases which is targeting 300,000 bbl/d thermal production by 2020.
Reporting to the Manager, Exploitation the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Set business direction for the Athabaca Oilsands leases
- Provide leadership and direction within a team environment for the creation of development plans and strategies for a in-situ projects;
- Lead the area land strategy which includes acquisitions and/or joint venture deals;
- Provide mentorship in the monitoring of production analogs;
- Developing a project justification for senior management approval;
- Evaluating potential
- Assisting a team in developing a regulatory application;
- Review development plans and project justifications to provide guidance and ensure that best practices are adhered to;
- Providing reservoir engineering input to the project execution team during the construction phase of the project; and
- Calculating, maintaining and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the corporate reserves.
Candidates must have a B.Sc. in Engineering with minimum of fifteen years of experience in Thermal operations. Strong knowledge of SAGD reservoir depletion and development strategies is required and experience in economic evaluations and exposure to field operations would be an asset. Candidates must be proficient in the use of spreadsheet applications and word processing. Excellent communication, organizational and team leadership skills, complemented with a strong work ethic are also required.
