The Costing Accountant ensures that the purchases of finished goods are correctly recorded and cost variances are analysed as compared to standard with actual. Ad-hoc costing analysis will be required to be computed on a timely basis as and when is necessary. He/She also ensures that the internal control environment is effective and that agreed control procedures are properly executed.
Key accountabilities
• Prepare cost analysis for new/existing products
• Perform monthly standard cost revaluation and analyse all revaluation variances
• Prepare and maintain transfer pricing list for group company sales
• Perform monthly reconciliation of all general ledger codes under the jobholder’s responsibilities
• Ensure all stock purchase transactions are recorded correctly and captured promptly into the accounting system and subsequently to perform price variance analysis
• Prepare monthly stock base group creditors’ balance data file for Group reporting
• Review plant monthly overhead expenses as well as manufacturing accounting entries in relation to work order variances
Essential criteria & qualifications
• Degree in Accounting and/or recognised professional Accounting qualification e.g. CPA,ACCA or CIMA
• A member with Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)
• 3 to 6 years post qualification experience in costing
• Internal control experience with good knowledge of current accounting standards and their applications
• Hands-on experience in JDE accounting system will be an added advantage
• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Mandarin
Desirable criteria & qualifications
• Strong personal conviction for work excellence, tolerance for stress and able to work under pressure whilst paying attention to detail
• Possess initiative with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently & effectively
