Role synopsis
The Accountant – GA is a role in the [Company] Angola Accounting Department that reports to the General Accounting Team Leader. The GA Accountant is accountable for the month end closing activities, directly supporting the Team Leader. It entails preparing and monitoring the closing schedule and all its activities, Time Writing, Amortizations and monitor Accounts Receivable activities.
Key accountabilities
- To prepare and monitor the closing activities.
- Prepare and validate Time Writing, based on Headcount.
- Prepare reports to check accounting codes combinations.
- Prepare the %s for allocations; gather information for Transports, Houses and Staff Houses.
- Amortizations – prepaid rentals.
- Prepare cost split between blocks for specific projects.
- Run Capex Clearing and validate
- Prepare and upload all journals related to this area, including %s for allocation.
- Supervise accounts receivable area.
- Balance sheet integrity, monitor accounts on a monthly basis, review account reconciliations on a quarterly basis and responsible for clearing all reconciling differences.
Essential criteria & qualifications
- An Accounting degree or suitably related qualification
Desirable criteria & qualifications
- Excellent inter personal skills.
- Ability to work with IT systems.
- Knowledge of SAP would be a plus
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines.
