Refinery Overview
The Trainer refinery is located on the Delaware River in Trainer, PA, about 10 miles southwest of the Philadelphia airport.  The refinery has a crude oil processing capacity of 185 MBD and processes mainly light, low-sulfur crude oil.
 
Description:
Electricians work in the Maintenance Department of the refinery.   The position is a straight day job, subject to shift work, call outs and mandatory overtime. 
 
The Electrician may be responsible for:
Planning layout, install, and repair conduit, wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment.
Preparing sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or following diagrams and blueprints to ensure that concealed wiring is installed.
Installing electrical conduit and pull wiring through.
Connecting power cables to equipment and installing grounding leads.
Preventive maintenance repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Installing and adjusting of new or repaired equipment.
Ensuring all electrical systems and equipment fully support the operating requirements in all areas including safety, quality, productivity, capacity and reliability.
Performing any and all work for which qualified, in a safe and efficient manner including but not limited to repairing, altering, fabricating, removing, installing, assembling, troubleshooting and servicing a wide variety of equipment.
Maintaining and operating all equipment and tools required to support all or individual skills and sustains a well-kept and orderly site in performance of all work.
Acquiring additional skills and knowledge as required to become a proficient multi-skilled employee.
Must work in/outdoors where exposed to weather elements, some climbing and lifting, may be required to work in confined spaces or at elevated heights.
Know and observe safe work practices including wearing Personal Protective Equipment, i.e., fire retardant clothing, hard hat, safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes, safety gloves, hearing protection, safety harness, and breathing apparatus (respirator and SCBA.)
 
Basic/Required Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
Valid driver's license.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Vocational training or equivalent electrician experience.
Three years experience in a refinery and/or similar industry.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to read/comprehend manuals, schematics, blueprints, graphs, charts, and diagrams.
Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and identify corrective actions.
Three years direct experience in using test equipment and procedures, National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable government and plant standards/regulations (OSHA, ANSI, health, and safety),  lock out/tag out procedures, unit start-up/shut-down procedures7, firefighting techniques/procedures, rigging equipment/procedures/practices, and instrumentation terminology, procedures, and practices.
Three years of direct experience using the following items: hand tools, measurement tools and devices and power tools.
Computer skills (MS Office, Outlook)
Ability to work alone and in a team environment.

Relocation is not available for this position.
