PURPOSE
To plan, develop, coordinate and ensure the provision of specialized purchase services of various types of materials and equipment.
BACKGROUND
- The Senior Buyer reports to the Purchasing Department Head (PDP) together with the Senior Expeditor and the Purchasing Assistant.
- The role of the Senior Buyer is critical to the Plants and Main Office Operations in coordinating and planning users materials requisitions to develop enquiry, purchase orders for materials/equipment of special nature such as mechanical, electrical, instrument, chemicals, safety and general for Gas Turbines, Compressors, Pumps, Engines, Specialized Vessels, Tubular, Valves, Skid packages etc.
- This requires high technical knowledge and diversified capabilities in Purchasing management, cost effectiveness legal / economical aspects, and negotiation skills. It also requires high coordination and communication with end users, Legal Department, HSE, local and international suppliers and manufacturers and with other Oil and Gas companies in the UAE and the Gulf.
- To coordinate with user Departments and Divisions regarding improvement of enquiry packages contents with the objective of improving enquiry quality and to solicit better suppliers response securing delivery of the right materials at the right time and at the right price.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
- Qualified Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with minimum 7 years purchasing/supply chain management experience in oil and gas industry
- GCC Experience is an added advantage.
