Purpose of Role:
 
This position is intended to fulfill the need for site contracts administration.  This position will cross shift with existing contracts administration personnel.  The position will report to the leader of the Contracts Administration group in Calgary, but could take day-to-day direction from the Maintenance Supervisor at site.  The job will be located at [Employer] Christina Lake site near Fort McMurray.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all contracting activities are completed in accordance with the corporate SCM policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the administration of site contracts for Operations.
  • Participate in the review of major contract tender package/contract documents with home office
  • Responsible for change management for major contracts including analysis of any and all impacts on cost, schedule and quality.
  • Responsible for invoice attest and progress reporting for managed contracts.
  • Management of files for managed contracts.
  • Responsible for timely contract close-out of managed contracts.
  • Steward contractor relationships for managed contracts.
  • Manage contractor performance and continuous improvement for managed contracts.
  • Perform selective audits of invoicing to ensure contractual terms are met.
  • Participate in the negotiation of claims and mediation contractual disputes.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Excellent customer relations skills (with internal and external customer)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of Contract Law
  • Working knowledge of regulations and codes
  • Detailed knowledge of construction contracts
  • Post secondary education or PMAC certification preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in contract management
