Description:
[Employer] Laboratories is looking for a fully qualified individual for our lab in NE Calgary. [Employer] Laboratories is engaged in all facets of rock and fluid analysis for the purpose of evaluating hydrocarbon resources around the world. With locations on six continents, [Employer] Laboratories provides laboratory services to every major oil and gas producer and is experienced in all play types, on and offshore. As a part of the engineering group, this position will work alongside with engineers on client projects and will provide geological consultation support to our clients.
Role and Responsibility:
- Provide a geological description of core samples to our clients
- Utilize analytical techniques that may include scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and petrological thin sections
- Provide petrographical description and source rock evaluation to our clients
- Provide geological evaluations in terms of correlations of well log data to core samples
- Responsible to produce a full geological (petrography) report to our clients.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Geology Organization skills
- Communication skills
- Computer skills
- Previous experience as a petrologist will be an asset
