Job Responsibilities:
GAIA Contractors is seeking Project Managers for the Mississauga office preferably, however other Company offices such as Barrie, Whitby or London may be considered. The role includes taking responsibility for delivering technically challenging ground engineering, mining, water resource and environmental remediation projects, as well as developing and pricing new project opportunities both independently and with the support of other GAIA operating centres, and in conjunction with personnel from Compay’s parent company Company.
Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Project and construction management;
- Assisting with management and coordination of the design and construction aspects of environmental remediation, geotechnical, water resources, and mining projects;
- Management of the health and safety aspects of projects;
- Preparation of technical and financial proposals;
- Management of client relations;
- Construction estimating, scheduling, cost control and reporting;
- Training and mentoring junior and intermediate staff;
- Resolving technical and construction related matters as they arise;
- GAIA personnel and sub-contractor management and supervision;
- Overseeing application of Company’s ISO 9001:2000 certified Qualify Assurance program at the project level; and,
- Business development in collaboration with the Ontario Regional Leader.

Job Requirements:
- The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Degree in Civil or Environmental engineering or equivalent;
- Registered Professional Engineer, or eligible for registration, in Ontario;
- Experience in construction estimating, scheduling, cost control and contract management;
- Experience in the management of earthworks and civil engineering projects including health and safety;
- Experience in specialized mining, ground engineering or environmental remediation projects would be considered an asset;
- Experienced liaison with client and consultants, and in management and supervision of site staff and subcontractors;
- Proven project management experience;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
- Highly motivated;
- Ability to work in a collegial environment;
- Available for business travel and extended working hours, when required; and,
- Strong people skills and team player.
