Description:
The successful candidate will provide project management and budget control on a variety of remediation projects. Preferred candidates are those who have experience in site assessment, remediation, hazardous waste management, and knowledge of refinery, petrochemical or oil-and-gas industries is an asset.
Responsibilities will include:
- Design, plan and implement remediation strategies.
- Provide on-site supervision of peers, coordination, inspection and
- management services of works performed by subcontractors.
- Monitor and inspect remedial operations. Provide technical guidance and directions to staff and subcontractors.
- Manage staff and sub-contractors; ensure compliance with established
- operational procedures and keep staff abreast of updated standards.
- Control budgets, organize and direct peers to achieve project scope and schedule.
- Enforce health and safety regulations and ensure good housekeeping practices on job sites.
- Prepare all necessary site reports and update senior management regarding remediation progress. Provide recommendations where considered necessary to improve the remedial operations.
- Maintain contact with the client's staff and the other relevant parties to ensure effective working relations.
- Any other duties which may be required from time to time during different stages of site operations.
- Will require occasional travel, including to job sites outside of Canada.
This full-time, permanent position will provide a competitive remuneration package, based on relevant experience, health benefits package for employee and family and three weeks vacation to start.
Requirements:
- At least ten (10) years of relevant experience and a minimum of three (3) years in a managerial role.
- Experienced in environmental site assessment and development of remediation strategies.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as 'on your own' in a field setting, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Good organization skills and ability to handle tight deadlines and schedules.
- Strong financial skills for budget control.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
- Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal with pressure.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Proficient in using MS Office Suite.
