The successful candidate will provide subsea operational support to MD’s semi-submersible fleet of 3 ultra-deepwater and 3 mid-water semis.
As focal point for subsea operations they will plan and coordinate major subsea activities across the fleet, ensuring expertise is correctly allocated. The candidate will provide technical expertise to support the global operations and where required liaise with vendors and onshore management to ensure operations are fully maintained. In addition the candidate will be responsible for reviewing and standardising subsea procedures.
Reporting to the Head of Direct Support, Drilling Operations the candidate will inform head office of relevant subsea activities in conjunction with shore base onshore management.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 4 years of Deepwater Off-shore Subsea Engineer Supervisor
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Subsea BOP MUX systems, Connectors, Marine Risers, Diverter, Tensioner, Choke Manifold and Surface control units.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Heave compensators, Valves & Hoses
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of HPU & Hydraulic systems.
- Demonstrate excellent reporting skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrate ability to read and analyse technical drawings.
- Good knowledge of industry standards & regulations.
- Good communications skills and industry contacts.
- Computer literate; MS Office
- Excellent English written & spoken
Preference:
- Experience with Hydril Subsea BOP & Controls
- Experience with Aker Kvaerner Risers & Slip Joints
- Experience with NOV N-line tensioners
- Experience with SAP or Electronic Preventive Maintenance Program
- IWCF Well Control Certificate Subsea Supervisor Level
Additional Info:
- Work on-shore in office environment with 4 other colleagues in Operations Direct Support
- Flexible – must be able and willing to relocate if required
- Travel – the job will entail approximately 45 days travelling per year to rigs, shorebases and vendors
