Description:
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (ME) with experience in wireline and/or drilling technology to compliment our mechanical product development team in Calgary, Canada.
Role and Responsibility:
- The Mechanical Engineer will be part of a team of approximately 5 mechanical engineers and designers within the technology group at the OFT Calgary facility.
- Predominately the clients business portfolio consists of the design and development of open hole wireline and wire case tools.
- The candidate will create manufacturing documentation such as BOMs, change orders, and manufacturing test specifications.
- Adhere to established design processes, standards and design practices.
- Perform / validate mechanical stress analysis. Perform mechanical tolerance analysis.
- The candidate will interface directly with other functions such as Sourcing and Supply Chain.
The role would begin as a contract eventually becoming a staff position based on performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field
- Minimum of four years of experience in mechanical design using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Demonstrated success in leading projects of increasing scope and responsibility
- Field experience in using well logging and/or drilling tools
- Proven team leadership skills and ability to effectively influence and motivate others *Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, ability to multi-task and stay organized
- Develop mechanical conceptual designs and detailed designs in accordance with established engineering processes, submit design packages for reviews, update the designs as required as a result from reviews.
