General Duties:
This is an engineering staff position that reports directly to the project manager. Candidate must be capable in all phases of petrochemical design and engineering work. Keep apprised of upcoming work through contact with design groups and review work in the design phase. Advise engineering contractor of construction issues that would enhance work performance in the safest and most cost effective methods. Coordinate with the client, engineering contractor, and other field support contractors to set construction priorities. Provide technical support where needed to ensure that the field has sufficient information and documentation to maintain integrity of work, while complying with applicable codes, current specifications, and field philosophies. Review work scopes, estimates, work plans, and assist in development of overall project schedules. Coordinate and establish requirements for surveying contractor activities in support of projects. Review construction field problems and coordinate and document the required changes through the BAR system.
Key Job Responsibilities and time are divided equally amongst the following three categories:
1) Estimating
Review construction packages and formulate estimates utilizing company database and WinEst software
2) Client Interface
a. Coordinate with engineers and field personnel to ensure changes during construction are incorporated into master drawings. Act a single point of contact regarding redlines between construction, engineering and client.
b. Review field construction problems and coordinates the required changes through the BAR system by preparing Request for Information packages for design changes and clarifications.
3) Field Construction Support
Constant involvement with field personnel during project implementation phase.
Experience Needed:
10 years in the field of Mechanical Engineering
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
