The Senior Structural Designer will be an integral part of the MCS Manifold team that is technical responsible for defining and delivering subsea manifold systems to the programs, tenders and projects.
Essential Responsibilities
The Structure discipline group have the responsibility for engineering activities for the structural part of manifolds, foundations and other modules from conceptual design, analysis, specifications and FAT procedures in addition to engineering support during fabrication. Engineers from our group will provide engineering support during studies, tendering and detail engineering in delivery projects.
- Must be an experienced user of Pro-engineer for piping in subsea structures
- Be able to generate models and also other models within ProEngineer
- Take the role as CAD lead in manifold projects
- Supervise other designers within group and in projects
- Be responsible for piping catalog and systems within ProEngineer
- Work with the Lead Engineers to develop design concepts
- Produce drawing packages from concept to fabrication stage
- Supervise designers in order to meet project milestones and needs
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience within the subsea industry -preferably within the steel structure discipline.
- BSc, Technical institute / Certificate of apprenticeship with experience in mechanics from Subsea / Petroleum industry. Candidates with less formal education will be considered if they have solid and relevant experience.
- Proven experience in leading a team of designers
- Experienced in design of offshore and/or subsea systems / structures
- PC proficiency, including preferably 5-7 years of ProEngineer (or similar)
- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.
- In-depth knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes & capabilities, assembly
- Strong working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance as it relates to individual parts and overall assemblies
- Highly proactive and results oriented
- Self motivated and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
