Description:
Must be capable of responding to emergency situations including, but not limited to, wellbore influxes, hydrogen sulfide detection and major mechanical or structural failures.
Must be capable of quickly evacuating the facility to avoid injury during emergencies. Must also provide assistance with regard to rescue operations for injuries or overcome personnel.
Responsible for using drill pipe tongs, spinning chain, air spinners, slips, variety of hand tools, as well as assisting with the handling of stands of drill pipe and collars.
Assists with repair and maintenance or large mud pumps, shale shaker, desander, desilter, and degasser units.
Responsible for "nippling up" the BOP stack; assists with the rig-up / rig-down of the drilling rig; operates the forklift during all phases of drilling the well; and repairs motors, centrifugals, and mud pump.
Changes oil in motors, drawworks, and swivel. Disposes used oil in disposal drum.
Cleans the mast and substructure with a high-pressure steam cleaning unit. Also scrubs and paints the mast and substructure.
Visually checks all instruments, gauges, and fluid levels. Checks the motors, reads gauges, checks the boiler and water tank.
