Job Description:
Directs and conducts all activities related to sales bidding and negotiating for contracts for a defined business unit or region. Interacts with existing and prospective customers to ensure existing business is retained and new business opportunities are developed. The Drilling Business Development Manager will work with senior level representatives from customer companies and acts as a liaison to help assist resolution of contractual, commercial and operational issues which may develop.
Essential duties and responsibilities: Include the following though other duties may be assigned.
Conducts customer contacts and sales calls.
Prepares bids and proposals in response to inquiries from prospective clients.
Negotiates drilling contract with customer.
Develops and negotiates amendments to or extensions of drilling contracts.
Works with operations group to assist in contract compliance and operation.
Compiles data for preparing estimates.
Acts as liaison between company and clients.

Must be skilled in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.
Knowledge of Access and Sharepoint is preferred.

Must be able to multi-task while prioritizing to ensure delivery of completed work on schedule.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and embrace a team environment.
Knowledge of oilfield operations is considered a plus
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Economics is required. MBA, masters or law degree preferred.
Minimum 15 years experience in oil and gas business/contract development/management in oilfield or related industry.
Minimum 10 years drilling experience required.
International experience is preferred.
Language Skills:
Must be able to communicate with all nationalities in order to develop relationships of trust and understanding.
Superior written and verbal skills are required.
The ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Proficiency in language other than English may required depending on area of focus
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid passport with no travel restrictions

Position requires substantial international travel.
