Job Description:
Provides proper, accurate and efficient support contributing to the effective operation of the power plant. All duties are performed in accordance with approved procedures, guidelines and operating directives in effect. This position requires a high degree of integrity and business acumen. Work will be performed with minimal supervision and direction from the general manager. The position involves contact with the public, vendors, corporate management and staff. This position also provides back-up support for project analyst position.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
Generate requisitions for purchase of materials, services and consumable items. Analyze purchase requisitions to determine if materials should be transferred or purchased and take action accordingly. Responsible for inventory control including receipt of goods into warehouse stock, physical count of goods, comparison of goods to vendor packing documents and to purchase order, ensuring accuracy of shipment. Issue stock items from warehouse inventory and record such transactions for reconciliation.
Prepare, distribute and file reports, letters, spreadsheets, presentations and organize information that may be critical or sensitive. Organize, maintain and control a filing system pertaining to all the facility's records.
Administer all benefit programs under the direction of human resources department and resolve employee benefit issues. Provide new hires with first day orientation. Administer or coordinate programs, projects and processes specific to the operation such as drug screening, facility compliance calendar and corporate donations. Responsible for time entry and reconciliation for payroll.
Search inventory records and warehouse to determine if material on hand is of sufficient quantity. Trace all inventory records to account for any discrepancies. Submit recommendations to project analyst for improvements concerning inventory control.
Schedule and arrange meetings, appointments, luncheons, conferences, presentations and travel arrangements. Assist in the preparation of agendas and materials. Maintains appointment agenda and keeps the management staff informed as to commitments. Process plant mail for distribution.
Coordinate with project analyst, vendors and accounts payable personnel to resolve problems with invoices.
Provide back-up support for project analyst position.
Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Responsible for plant adherence to all corporate policies and procedures regarding purchasing systems and procedures and data critical to the procurement/inventory cycle.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in business or a related field or the equivalent work experience. (Typically three years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree.)
Functional competence in the use of computers and various software applications, inclusive of, but not limited to Microsoft products.
Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, proportions to practical situations.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Schedule: Full time
Hiring Range: $31,100-$39,500
