[Company] is internationally recognized as a trusted provider of engineering, equipment qualification testing and applied research services for the oil and gas industry. We focus on projects related to the deployment of leading edge technology in challenging applications world-wide, in the areas of exploration & production and pipelines & structures.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineer for our Production Operations Department in our Exploration & Production Division. The successful candidate will manage relatively large, technically complex projects, involving a number of individuals with diverse background and experience. The position reports to the Manager, Production Operations.
Responsibilities include: coordinating the work of engineering teams assigned to projects, including preparation and review of technical reports; monitoring technical progress, scheduling and budgeting of on-going projects; interacting with client representatives world-wide; providing technical advice in his/her area of expertise; supervising and mentoring less experienced junior technical staff; and participating in new business development and marketing activities, including proposal preparation, attendance at technical conferences and participation in industry-wide committees.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- eight (8) or more years experience in the oil and gas industry, at least four (4) in a technical support or research & development environment
- working knowledge of field production operations, including some experience with heavy oil applications
- high level of expertise in artificial lift, particularly related to PCP and ESP systems
- a Masters degree with at least one degree (BSc or MSc) in Mechanical Engineering
- solid engineering science fundamentals with the flexibility to conduct both experimental and theoretical work
- strong project management and leadership skills
- excellent oral and written English communication skills; experience in preparing highly technical reports
- good industry reputation with a wide network of contacts
