The Carbon and Energy Management (CEM) business unit develops technologies and processes that are focused on reducing the carbon intensity of energy production through CO2 capture and storage (CCS) and other clean energy technologies, delivering economic and environmental benefits to industry and government.
This position will be responsible for the overall management of a team of inter-disciplinary scientists and technologists whose work is comprised of major CO2 storage projects within Alberta and around the globe. The successful candidate will have experience managing large (e.g. over $1 million) collaborative multi-agency research or technology projects aimed at accelerating the deployment of CCS technologies, knowledge and understanding of Alberta government financial policies and strategies, and familiarity working collaboratively with the Canadian energy industry.
Requirements
Candidates require a minimum of a post-graduate degree and over 10 years of experience in the government, industry or research community. A strong understanding of CO2 management technologies and climate change issues are desired. Equivalencies will be considered.
Compensation
We offer a comprehensive benefit package and stimulating work environment. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a Security Clearance, as well as provide a Driver's Abstract if applicable.
