Job Description:
Must have 5-10 years experience in valve industry.
Scope of responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Service Manager is responsible for managing all service activities in the shop. In addition, assures that all functions are performed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and operating plans.
Specific Responsibilities:
Supervises operations for repair department.
Assigns employees to specific duties and instructs in proper methods to perform assignments.
Monitors employees and equipment routinely and applies hands-on assistance to ensure quality and quantity of work performed.
Follows scheduling priorities and maintains close liaison with Service Manager, Inside Sales and Warehouse to ensure parts and material are available to the department in order to meet production schedules.
Makes recommendations to Management for improvements relative to operations, plant layout, personnel changes, scheduling priorities and equipment that reduces cost and/or maximizes productivity.
Assists Service Manager is establishing and implementation of in-house training program for shop personnel.
Responsible for assuring hourly employees follow all Company policies, procedures and work rules.
Responsible for monitoring attendance of all hourly employees including completion of weekly timesheet.
Assist Service Manager in establishing and maintaining in-house maintenance program for all equipment.
Responsible for assuring all hourly employees follow Safety Rules.
Assist Management in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workplace.
Assist Service Manager with hourly employee performance evaluations.
Delegates work assignments as necessary to meet customer demands.
Education and/or Experience:
5-10 years in the field or in a related area.
Knowledge of valves, actuators, and service environment strongly preferred.
Requires knowledge of the industrial service business including safety, quality, and environmental aspects.
Strong organizational and supervisory skills are desirable with the ability to work successfully with various disciplines.
