This position oversees management of change for a complex, first-in-kind multibillion dollar mega-project that will be conducted by several different companies across different work locations, and in an environment of evolving business processes and technical standards. Given that Client’s Project is a first-in-kind project, a creative and rigorous approach in managing change and minimizing risks is required.
Reports to Position Title: Systems Integrator
Mission
Define change control procedures in line with corporate policy and industry best practices, including requests for change, change scheduling and coordination, impact assessment, approvals and post change reviews
Identify the change owner, scope of impact, risk factor associated with each change, scheduling conflicts and the set of actions needed to complete the change with minimal impact to cost and schedule
Oversee the change control process and ensure all changes are properly documented, categorized, planned, tested, communicated and the appropriate back-out plans are in place
Key Job Responsibilities
Change Control
- Define change control procedures in line with corporate policy and industry best practices; procedures include, but not limited to:
- Requests for change
- Change scheduling and coordination
- Impact assessment
- Approvals
- Post change reviews
- Design programs and organize workshops to ensure that personnel and Contractors are familiar with the change control procedures
Identify following issues during the change process:
- Change owner
- Scope of impact
- With Sr. Risk Assessor, risk factor associated with each change
- Scheduling conflicts
- Set of actions needed to complete the change with minimal impact to cost and time
- Oversee the change control process and ensure all changes are properly documented, categorized, planned, tested, communicated and closed out in a timely manner
- Ensure that appropriate back-out plans are in place
- Create Impact Assessment report for every major design change and present it to Systems Integrator and Sr. Risk Assessor
Coordination, Documentation and Reporting
- Attend regular and ad-hoc meetings with Group’s Interface Coordinator and main Contractors to identify all technical design changes
- Liaise with Planning and Cost Engineers to ensure that impacts of design changes are accurate reflected in the project schedule and budget
- Own Client Change Register which contains outcomes of change control processes
- Ensure that interface agreements and Client Interface Register reflect impacts of design changes
- Provide regular and ad-hoc status reports covering major outcomes of change control processes to Systems Integrator
Project Development
- Participate in business planning, budgeting, Systems Integration, peer reviews, and other initiatives as required
- Encourage commitment for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing among peers
- Any other activities as requested to support Client’s success
Requirements
- Authority and respect amongst the technical community is paramount
- Familiar with oil and gas exploration and production activities, including gas liquefaction if possible
- Experience in design review and change control for complex oil and gas projects
- Proven ability to work across cultures and hierarchies
- Have working experiences in Indonesia
- University degree or equivalent in Engineering
- 10+ years in technical roles related to development of complex Oil and Gas projects
