Job description
The PMO will be the central repository for initiatives and has a key role in:
• Developing a business case to proceed to implementation and
• Ranking initiatives within portfolios.
 
The PMO will maintain the necessary data to support the Business Service Teams, project wide, process documentation, org charts, job descriptions, CV’s, competencies and personnel management processes. They will work with HR to this end.
 
Their key objective will be reviewing, prioritizing and optimizing any proposed initiatives to allow Asset Business Teams to keep focus on their support to Execution role and for the PMO to be utilized as a “shared service” type organisation where common cross-project tasks can be best managed and executed.
 
They will:
• Establish program management office policies and guidelines
• Assemble annual budget requirements
• Provide centralized services to communicate on, report on and manage various key Business Services initiatives, such as:
• Establish strategic plans, obtain approval for deployment, recruit resources and monitor, manage and report on execution plan to ensure smooth transition between phases.
• Ensure the existence of a Business Case justifying each Project, and a Project Charter approving each implementation.
• Provides back office service support for Business services Organisational Capability development, Org design, competency assessment, resource recruitment and onboarding.
 
Candidates must possess:
• The ability to communicate at Senior Executive level.
• Excellent communications skills and be able to deal with the promoters of unsuccessful initiatives. This will take diplomacy and keen negotiation skills.
 
The successful candidate should have:
• Experience in establishing a PM Office,
• At least one years experience in a similar role
• A proven history of involvement in PMO’s.
