Job Description
[Company] Drilling Systems is seeking a Controller for our Thomas Road location in Houston, TX. Duties include: Performs difficult problem solving, accounting, internal control and analytical support for the plant and provide user-friendly business reporting to non-financial managers. Initiates process redesign and improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency. Identifies the financial impact of plant decisions and communicates those effectively. Will perform advanced analysis and make recommendations to management for improvement in manufacturing, accounting, and other plant activities focused on cost savings, revenue generation, and increasing overall plant efficiency. Participates in the month end closing process including journal entries, variance reporting with explanations, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis. Must be a leader in efforts to create, modify, and analyze accounting and costing that is timely and accurate for management decision-making.
Job Requirements/ Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Advanced degree or CPA a plus
Must be well organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills
Requires the ability to solve complex problems and provide analysis for both solutions and broad-based impact
Understand and analyze process flows relating to specific plan responsibilities
Must know Microsoft Office software. Advanced SAP experience is a plus and excellent knowledge of GAAP
