Purpose and Scope
- Supervises and directs a team of process engineers involved in the provision of advisory and expert services related to design and development of process facilities associated with the Company's oil and gas production, pressure maintenance, transport and export facilities.
- Provides consultancy services in areas of expertise, prepares/oversees conceptual designs for modifications or new process facilities, and evaluates requests for process engineering support.
- Ensures application of correct codes and standards in the design and development projects and develops project strategies for presentation to Management for approval.
- Provides technical advice to operating divisions on all relevant engineering aspects.
- Ensures safe, economic and technically sound decisions are taken to meet company's requirements. Acts as an authority and functional advisor on all aspects of process engineering discipline. Also considered as an in-house expert in one ore more technical areas.
Accountabilities
- Directs & co-ordinates activities of process personnel.
- Ensures safe, economic and technically sound decisions in all project phases.
- Advises on engineering activities on existing & proposed facilities. Includes Field Development; Produced water handling/ treatment; Minimum/zero flaring; Artificial lift.
- Participates in evaluation of PMRF's. This includes identification, definition, evaluation and validation. Recommends rejection or acceptance and appropriate solutions of the proposed modification requests.
- Prepares conceptual design or provide advice on process matters which may arise during Operation, commissioning & start-up.
- Develops Scope of Work and Terms of Reference for process engineering activities for assigned projects. Also participates in preparing Project Identification document.
- Reviews technical bids submitted by consultants and equipment vendors.
- Liaise with engineering consultants during the conceptual, basic & detailed design phases of the project.
- Liaise with Process engineering groups on the establishment & updating of process engineering standards, design philosophies.
- Participates in HAZOP and safety review
- Participates in Value Engineering reviews
- Participates in the training and development of assigned UAE national employees
- Knows company health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulations related to his area of responsibility.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.Sc in Chemical Engineering.
- Fluency in English
Experience:
- 12 years experience in process design & engineering and providing technical services for process plants and facilities inclusive of 7 years with oil / gas industry
