Purpose of the job:
- To administer and coordinate the Education Support Services needed for Community Scholarship Programme (CSP) and Distance Learning Scheme (DL) by developing and managing relevant procedures.
- Monitor elements of the allocated budgeting regard to expenditure for and by students, colleges/universities, and external agencies.
- To take full ownership of the HLD MIR, managing the preparation, delivery and maintenance of HLD data.
- To organise all administration activities as required for the efficient management and operation of HLD3 section.
- Support other HLD projects & activities as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Human Resource or relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in HR-Learning and Development or
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar job.
- Knowledge and/or experience in Information Management.
- Knowledge and/or experience in Auditing and Finance Management.
Person Profile - Essential Qualities:
- A good command of the English and Arabic Languages written and spoken.
- A good knowledge of and experience in HR and Financial Procedures.
- A good working knowledge of the Education systems, in Oman and overseas up to and including Postgraduate Levels.
- Highly motivated, proactive, good team member and computer literate.
- Patience. Proven capability in effective communication, counseling and coaching.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Act as the custodian for the CSP and DL schemes. This including development of Education Strategies.
- Act as the focal-point to sponsored employees/students in the CSP and DL schemes within his/her portfolio on choices of study disciplines, educational institutions and eventual placements.
- Act as the single point of contact with external educational bodies in relation to both, the CSP & DL schemes.
- Monitor allocated budget to HLD/3 with regards to expenditure for and by students, colleges/universities, and external agencies and challenge where necessary.
- Administer and monitor procedures and practices for the various programmes under company sponsorship to ensure compliance.
- Maintain close liaison with internal and external bodies for the nomination, placement and the monitoring of [Company] students.
- The accurate maintenance of the Education database for all sponsored employees and students.
- Ensure that HLD Learning activity data is accurate and credible so that it could be circulated to [Company] mgt.
- Ensure that quarterly data reporting to Shell EPM is done efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure that reporting data fields are aligned between [Company] &[Company] .
- Provide management information whenever required.
- Helps HLD LT prepare for critical meetings, by providing fit for purpose and accurate MIR and HLD data.
- Provide the necessary administrative support to ensure that all team activities are conducted in a smooth and efficient manner.
Challenges
- Monitoring the programmes of a large number of sponsored students and employees in CSP and DL Scheme.
- Monitoring more than 10 bank accounts and cost centers.
- Ensuring compliance on approved process for employees and sponsored students.
- Dealing with students from the concession area.
- Ensures credibility of HLD data.
