Job description
- Build [Company]'s local technical competence within the geology and/or geophysics disciplines related to fields in production offshore Newfoundland and Labrador as well as possible future field developments
- Evaluate and assess geological models, production depletion plans as well as drilling plans
- Develop extensive contacts with relevant technical networks within Canada and [Company] in Norway
- Participate and represent [Company] in various partner committees
Qualifications
- University Degree in Geology or Geophysics. A Master's degree is considered a strong asset
- P. Geo. designation and eligible for registration as a professional geoscientist with PEG-NL
- Strong business acumen with the ability to relate subsurface information to [Company]’s business objectives
- Preferably a minimum of 7 -12 years experience working in reservoir geoscience on Canada’s east coast
- Experienced user of OpenWorks, Petrel and other industry standard analytical tools
- Experience from well operations is beneficial
- Strong understanding of reservoir geology/geophysics and development planning
- Ability to be hands-on and create business opportunities and have well structured work practices
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment of highly motivated professionals
