This full time position will be responsible for the efficient receiving, handling, storing and interpretation of core from all [Company] oil sands drilling in Western Canada. Also includes the classification of geological facies and integration of data for modeling purposes.
Job description
- Ensure core is depth corrected and labeled properly
- Describe core in detail using WellCad software
- Assign facies classification to core
- Review core descriptions with HMI Logs and Petrophysics for confirmation of facies
- Integrate core data with Asset Team Geologists
- Assist in building complex geological models
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geology
- Minimum of two years experience in core logging, preferably with oil sands core from the McMurray formation
