[Company] owns or leases various Transportation assets - pipelines, terminals, marine and inland vessels, railcars and trucks - to provide strategic, timely and environmentally safe delivery and storage of crude oil, refined products and natural gas liquids to its refineries and to carry refined products to the market.
 
The Technician may be responsible for:
Performing and providing technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical/electrical/rotating equipment.
Performing planned maintenance checks and calibration and timely submits appropriate reports.
Assisting supervisors in changing technology/budget requirements.
Maintaining effective spare parts inventory
Assisting in pump tear down/rebuild inspections and new pump installations.
Working with Pipe Line Integrity and Reliability group for new technologies around rotating equipment.
Minimizing downtime and unsafe conditions by performing preventative maintenance.
Maintaining mechanical skills by attending training sessions and on-the-job training.
Maintaining technical and administrative records, including prints and project reports.
Minor electrical repairs
Troubleshooting control circuits for motors
Responding to emergencies and participate in Emergency Response Training.
Driving teamwork throughout the area of responsibility
Supervising, directing and training contract crews.
Active involvement in Safety Action Plans
Completing and maintaining required safety/regulatory training (CBT.)
Pursuing cost reduction opportunities
Reading and understanding pump curves
 
Basic Qualifications:
Instrument Technician / Associates Degree in Applied science in industrial instrumentation or instrumentation.
Valid driver's license
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
Ability and willingness to perform/comply with following:
Willing and able to climb various ladders and stairs to operate valves, gauge tanks, or perform maintenance on equipment. are a part of this position. The ladders and stairs range from 5 to 50 feet in height.
Willing and able to raise and transport articles weighing up to 80 pounds.
Willing and able to walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain.
Willing and able to work outside in harsh weather conditions.
Willing to work alone a high percentage of the time.
 
Meaningful experience with the following:
Allen-Bradley PLCs
Magnetrol Transmitters
MNI flow computer
Other general pipeline knowledge.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Business Direction: Maintain high level of technical knowledge around mechanical and rotating equipment.
Networking/Teambuilding: Ability to work safely and manage a very diverse workload.
Ability to self-start and work alone, as well as work within a team setting.
Ability to adjust quickly to unexpected conditions.
Demonstrates innovative thought process and problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate optimization efforts with supervisor.
People development skills with the ability to train others in technical subjects.
