The successful candidate will join the Africa Region Contracts and Procurement department as a permanent member of staff to provide contracts and procurement support for projects and bids. The post will cover a variety of contract engineer duties from specific project based post contract positions in either a subcontracts and /or main contracts role to more general contracts engineer/administration duties such as assisting bid teams with Main contract documentation review, preparation and evaluation of ITT's for placing of subcontracts and major material and equipment purchase orders.
The position will require the incumbent to provide Project Managers and their Function head with accurate summaries of contract related matters and commercial data, to administer bank bonds, parent company guarantees and insurance matters, to negotiate and assist project team with resolution of contractual claims and disputes, to prepare, administer and submit variations and Management of change, to monitor and control contract variances identified within the project, to ensure seamless integration between purchasing and sub-contract activities and to keep project personnel aware of contractual obligations and objectives. Good liaison, cooperation and integration will be required with project accounts / finance, legal, tax and insurance departments to ensure interests of the company are maintained.

Technical:
- A working knowledge of upstream Oil & Gas in Subsea Umbilical Risers and Flowlines procurement and installation would be a definite advantage, but not necessarily a pre requisite. Applications from the construction, civils and similar industries will be entertained.
- Good competency in Microsoft Word and Excel as a minimum.
- SAP knowledge and experience would be an advantage.
Self Management:
- Good organisational skills and smart working methods.
Qualifications and Education
General Education:
- To “A” level or equivalent
Specified Qualifications for position:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Business Management or Law
Continuing Professional Development:
- Can articulate learning and training experiences
Experience
- Good post qualification experience in contracts administration and management in either the oil and gas, construction, civils or similar industries.
- EPC experience would be a definite advantage
