[Company]'s Board of Directors has recently approved a proposal to proceed with a corporate reorganization to split [Company] into two independent, focused energy companies; one an integrated oil company to be named [Company], and the other a pure play natural gas company to retain the name [Company].
Supply Management is seeking a seasoned Contract Negotiator to develop Non-Standard Master Agreements with small, medium and large Oil & Gas suppliers. Direct experience with negotiating contracts across a wide range of Oil & Gas activities including drilling, completions, operations, and facilities is required
Responsibilities:
- lead negotiations on behalf of [Company] Supply Management non-standard Master Agreements
- effectively communicate with suppliers to clearly identify and articulate proposed exceptions to standard form Master Agreements
- recognize, evaluate, and offer mitigation alternatives for business risks including contractual, financial, performance and schedule
- coordinate with key internal and external stakeholders as appropriate
- coordinate and communicate the service offering and report regular metrics pertaining to the Contract Management function
- ensure consistency with [Company] contract management, risk management and legal support procedures and guidelines. Strive for organizational alignment relative to [Company] contracts.
- ensure consistency between final documents and agreements reached during negotiations
- work closely and cooperatively with Supply Management, Legal and other internal groups to seek opportunities to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness of [Company] Master Agreements and contracting procedures
- work with supervisor to ensure and develop ongoing resourcing requirements of contracts team
- manage multiple assignments while maintaining a strong focus on achieving deadlines
Qualifications:
- must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- extensive directly related contract negotiation experience is required with a specific emphasis on risk-related issues such as liability, indemnity and remedies
- post-secondary education specifically related to Contracts & Contract Negotiation is required
- a university degree is preferred
- direct experience negotiating agreements related to Drilling and Operations is required
- direct experience negotiating agreements related to Construction is preferred
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- excellent organizational and time management skills
- general computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel applications
- be highly adaptable to changing priorities and able to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic, large organizational environment
