The Integrated Oil Division has an exciting opportunity for an IT Application Support Resource to join the Finance and Strategic Planning IT Solutions team. This opportunity is for a candidate who has experience working with Corporate Treasury teams, as well as application support and development teams. The key responsibilities of this position include day to day IT support for Treasury applications (i.e. Resource IQ2, banking applications, cheque printing software)
Please note this is a 12-month contract opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- acting as a liaison between clients and technical solution providers to resolve support issues and implement any requested changes
- providing advice to client groups regarding the use of information technology
- building and managing relationships with key business stakeholders
- proactively manage client expectations and collaborate with other business groups
- providing technical support for client applications including payment systems, banking interfaces, and reporting tools
- creating and maintaining support and process documentation
- managing the lifecycle of business applications from version upgrades to retirement
- developing and coordinating client acceptance testing for application upgrades and business continuity solution tests
- approaching each client interaction with an exceptional customer care attitude, working to answer their questions, and solve their issues quickly and effectively
- adhering to standards of excellence and high performance service
Qualifications:
- must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- post secondary degree with 5+ years of related IT experience
- post secondary degree in Commerce (or related field) would be an asset
- knowledge and experience with relational databases and the ability to run queries
- understanding of http, FTP, and other web communication protocols
- ability to read and understand file specifications for payment, BAI, and other file types
- previous experience and knowledge of the oil and gas industry is required
- proven IS technical competency, to the extent of being able to assist in interpreting and implementing new business functionality
- good understanding of release management processes and procedures
- experience with JD Edwards ERP system would be an asset
- specific industry experience in Finance, and specifically, Treasury tools would be an asset
- confident proactive approach to problem solving
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with business, IS personnel, and vendors
- ability to interact and form strong relationships with people from varying disciplines
- well developed team skills with a collaborative work style
- process-oriented with the ability to discuss, advise, coordinate, and document processes with people from varying disciplines
- strong organization skills in prioritizing and keeping track of the number initiatives
- solid analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to solve problems and balance varying needs
