Role and Responsibility:
- Loads, unloads, and transports materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Utilizes and operates all material and equipment required in the performance of the job.
- Takes inventory, fills orders when assigned and performs administrative duties required of the job.
- Is responsible for good housekeeping, stocking and safekeeping of all materials and equipment in compounds and stores, and on stores trucks.
- Operates any vehicle which requires up to a Class 3 licence with air endorsement.
Qualifications (Must Have):
- Demonstrated safe work habits and adherence to safety regulations and practices. Driver abstract acceptable to Terasen Gas standards. Must be able to pass the Terasen Gas driving test.
- Must hold a Class 3 drivers license with air endorsement.
- Ability to work independently and take action on own initiative.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to successfully complete the following training; mobile crane equipment, rigging and slinging, WHMIS/TDG.
- Must obtain a valid crane operator certificate (per WorkSafe regulations OHS14.31.1) and be in compliance with WorkSafe regulations. (see additional information)
Additional Information:
- Current Work Safe regulations require that crane operators must be either fully certified or registered in the certification program. New crane operators must pass an assessment on the theory component of operating a crane as well as a practical assessment that is required for all crane operators. A valid operator’s certificate (per WorkSafe regulations) must be obtained within an acceptable time periods.
- Considerable bending and lifting.
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
