Position Duties / Responsibilities
- Assigned to a field construction organization in a supervisory capacity.
- Responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned discipline or area.
- Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned.
- Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
- Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.
On a large project, schedules and directs the sequence of work for several crews of related crafts operating within a single area.
On a small- to medium-sized project, coordinates and directs multi- discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project, or all related crafts of a single discipline covering all areas of the project.
- Responsible for field construction operations within instrumentation construction discipline.
- Determines workforce requirements.
- Coordinates established area operational plans.
- Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by instrumentation craft. Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.
- Responsible for the developing the three week look ahead schedule for construction instrumentation DH work.
- Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
- Approves craft time records for the instrumentation discipline using established automated tools.
- Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
- Monitors tool usage on the site for the instrumentation craft.
- Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the instrumentation craft has the tools they require to be producive.
- Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
- Writes daily subcontractor reports if require for contractor activities.
- Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
- Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas and clients resident representatives, as instructed by construction management.
- Will work closely with the Area Mangers for the ISBL and OSBL facilities to support their schedules, tasks lists and punch lists for completion of the project.
- Performs employee reviews and identifies training and development opportunities for subordinate personnel.
- Is able to work with craft personnel from many different nationalities and countries.
- Assures that all personnel in the instrumentation craft discipline have the required site training.
- Will develop requisitions to support the hiring of craft personnel for the project required for instrumentation installation.
- Ensures that [Company] and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility.
- Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations.
- Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings.
- Implements Six Sigma tools, analysis, and decision making in the execution of duties.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Expert Knowledge of instrumentation for gas plant operations.
- Knowledge of [Company] Zero Accident Philosophy.
- Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the [Company] Core Processes.
- Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.
- How to set up and organize for a remote project a field instrumentation construction organization.
- Understands and knows how to utilize [Company] discipline policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs) relating to instrumentation.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current [Company] Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
- Experience working with, supervising and administrating instrumentation personnel form multiple counties across the world.
