Role Summary/Purpose
The position holds responsibility for providing supervision and guidance to the Engineering team, ensuring compliance with relevant internal and industry standards, and to manage the execution of connection system engineering to agreed milestones and schedules

• Shall execute and facilitate the design and analysis for assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
• Manage all departmental Engineering activities with respect to deliverables, budget and schedule.
• Will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives.
• Provide HSEQ & Compliance Leadership to department.
• Perform interview and selection of new employees.
• Assist in the compilation of the annual engineering budget.
• Assist in the generation of KPIs for the engineering department.
• Undertake Personnel Reviews for direct reports (EMS).

Qualifications
• MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 4 - 5 years of experience within the subsea industry -preferably connection systems. Candidates with less formal education will be considered if they have solid and relevant experience.
• Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.
• Experience in mechanical hardware design and development
• PC proficiency, including preferably 2-3 years of ProEngineer and other software tools for mechanical engineering (e.g. ProMechanica, ANSYS etc.)
• Positive ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to work in an environment with globally diverse teams;
• Proven experience in leading a team to work across all functions/levels
• Highly proactive and results oriented
• Strong analytical skills combined with excellent problem solving skills
• Ability to influence others and create cohesive groups
• Self motivated and ability to work independently and as part of a team
