Job Responsibilities:
This is an entry level position for a Materials Technologist. The successful candidate shall undertake field testing of construction materials such as concrete, soils and asphalt and will also assist with laboratory testing. The candidate may also assist senior technologists or engineers with test pitting, drilling, structural condition surveys and other duties as necessary.
Job Requirements:
BCIT graduate or similar Technical Diploma;
Background in civil, structural and geotechnical engineering is a must;
Good troubleshooting skills and ability to address equipment problems;
Good communication skills (both oral and written), ability to follow detailed instructions;
Have Class 5 driver’s licence and vehicle;
Ability to lift heavy objects (minimum 65 lbs);
Ability to stand for long periods of time;
Knowledge of Health and Safety would be an asset
