We currently are seeking for an individual to join our team in our Fort McMurray office. As a full-time Vegetation and Rare Plant Specialist, you will:
- Provide technical leadership in vegetation assessment;
- Participate in coordination or manage vegetation projects;
- Provide supervision and mentoring of junior staff; and
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and work plan.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- University degree (s) in botany biology, ecology, environmental science or related disciplines
- Minimum of 3 years of experiences in environmental assessment or vegetation and terrestrials sciences
- The ability to conduct vegetation assessment and rare plant surveys
- Demonstrate ecosite and wetlands classification knowledge
- Strong writing and communication skills
In addition, it would be beneficial for the successful candidate to possess the following
- Experience in environmental consulting particularly vegetation assessment, biodiversity and reclamation
- Experience with federal and provincial regulatory requirements
- Experience in the Oil Sands industry
