We currently are seeking for an individual to join our team in our Fort McMurray office.
As a full-time Vegetation and Rare Plant Specialist, you will:
Provide technical leadership in vegetation assessment
Participate in coordination or manage vegetation projects
Provide client service and business development
Provide supervision, training and mentoring of intermediate and junior staff
Assist in the preparation of proposals and work plan
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
University degree (s) in botany biology, ecology, environmental science or related disciplines
Minimum of 8 years of experiences in environmental assessment or vegetation and terrestrials sciences
The ability to conduct and lead vegetation assessment and rare plant surveys
Demonstrate ecosite and wetlands classification knowledge
Strong analytical skills applicable to study design and statistical analysis of environmental data using parametric, non-parametric and multivariable techniques
Strong writing and communication skills
In addition, it would be beneficial for the successful candidate to possess the following:
Experience in environmental consulting particularly vegetation assessment, biodiversity and reclamation
Experience with permitting and reporting for environmental assessments and compliance to meet federal and provincial regulatory requirements
Experience in the Oil Sands industry
Ability to identify and pursue related business opportunities for our current and future clients
