The Pipeliner may be responsible for:
Performing DOT pipeline and general maintenance
Uses hand tools, power tools (electric and pneumatic), as well as garden tools.
Responds in emergencies such as: release, tornado, riot, bomb threat, fire, and/or explosion.
Opens and closes valves of various sizes, in conjunction with repair/maintenance work.
May be called upon to work overtime.
Understands and is able to use company manuals, drawings and maps.
Regular and predictable attendance at the designated job site.
Good communication skills. This person will interface with contractors and the public.
Gauge storage tanks ranging in size; 450 bbl. To 30,000 bbl. Tanks.
Inspect operating facilities on a daily basis, to ensure safety, reliability, and integrity and perform preventative maintenance checks.
Witness meter proving of company owned and third party facilities for measurement accuracy and quality.
Gather and produce tickets for accounting, verify and maintain throughput of product at company owned and third party facilities.
Maintain ACT's for measurement accuracy and security of facilities.
Point of contact for Texas Excavation Safety Systems (Line Locates) in general area of responsibility.
Receive, respond, and document all activities relevant to Line Locates for general area of responsibility
Point of contact for Aerial Patrol services for [Company] in the general area of responsibility.
Point of contact for third party field personnel/customers that we purchase product from.
Subject to call out for operational issues, reported releases, and any emergencies
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Ability and willingness to perform/comply with following:
Climb various ladders and stairs to operate valves, gauge tanks, or perform maintenance on equipment are a part of this position. The ladders and stairs range from 5 to 40 feet in height.
Works in trenches, several feet deep, assisting Craftsman.
Willing and able to raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds.
Willing and able to walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain.
Willing and able to work outside in harsh weather conditions.
Willing and able to wear a cartridge respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus for certain jobs.
Willing and able to work alone a high percentage of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
One or more years experience in the petroleum industry.
Commercial Drivers License
Computer proficient with Excel, Word, SAP.
Good judgment and ability to make decisions independently when necessary.
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
Personal organization and self motivation.
Ability to produce thorough and accurate paper work.
Effective communications and team skills.
Ability to adjust quickly to unexpected conditions.
Safety/environmental alertness and promotes a safe work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Condition of employment may include:
Operations and Maintenance personnel are required to know and understand all work procedures relative to their work area.
Personnel are tested and certified initially and required to go through refresher training at least every 3 years per the DOT operator qualification regulations.
All Operations and Maintenance Personnel are given an annual Department of Transportation (DOT Regulation 195.403) performance review to ensure that they are qualified to perform their job tasks.
Passing various aptitude and ability screening tests
Meeting physical criteria for the job, including qualifications for emergency response duties, and successfully passing drug and alcohol screenings
