[Company] is currently seeking the services of a well-seasoned IT Operations Manager. The right person who will excel in this multi-dimensional role will have an excellent mix of strong technical skills combined with strong managerial skills. This position will work under the general supervision of the Director of Information Systems.
 
This position is part of [Company]’s Information Technology (IT) team that is responsible for the day-to-day operations team in charge of [Company]’s IT infrastructure.

The ideal candidates will have a proven ability to manage large scale distributed data centres (in excess of 65 servers) and an operating environment of over 700 workstations and serving over 600 employees.

 
The ideal candidate must be a team player and have aptitude to mentor and implement best practices to ensure that the IT systems and infrastructure can meet the business’s dynamic and changing needs.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and responsible for the planning, implementation, administration and maintenance of the company's service infrastructure including network, servers, workstations, phone systems, wireless networks, photocopiers and printers, databases, content management system, document management system, ERP, SAN, Disaster Recovery to ensure that company assets are maintained responsibly..
  • Superior understanding of the following technologies: Windows Server (including active directory and GPO), SQL Server, OCS, Exchange, SharePoint, Windows XP and Windows 7, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Altiris, Symantec Backup Exec, VMWare ESX
  • Superior systems networking skills with experience establishing QoS standards and monitoring network performance.
  • Responsible for infrastructure strategies including system backups, archiving and disaster recovery.
  • Previous experience with server consolidation and virtualization strategies including extensive experience in developing strategic systems architecture plans for proper systems growth.
  • Proven experience operating within an ITIL operational environment
  • Interacts with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.
  • Prioritizes tasks and activities to align with business objectives.
  • Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products.
  • Ability to provide team members guidance and mentoring on formulating and delivering technical solutions to attain goals and pursue excellence
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change and improvement to better system operations
  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Strong project management skills with a detailed focus on planning, execution, control, deployment; duly complying with the processes, practices and standards currently established in [Company].
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of work in a dynamic environment
 
Qualifications:
 
M
  • inimum of 7 years in a senior role managing a similar size IT service operation with at least 7 years of people management experience, preferably managing large multidisciplinary teams with multicultural backgrounds
 
Required Professional Designation/Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Computer Science preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • ITIL Foundations v3 certification
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Network+, A+ and CompTIA
