Description
[Company] owns and operates North America's largest natural Gas pipeline system. We are currently looking to add an experienced, qualified Associate Mechanical Maintenance Tech to our Central Maintenance Division located in Clifton Springs, NY.
Typical responsibilities include heavy mechanical maintenance and replacement of reciprocating and turbine engines and compressors, including prime movers and auxiliary units. This position reports to a Crew Leader to ensure consistency in maintenance practices and detailed computer documentation. These duties include assessing the condition of engine and compressor components as well as performing the required maintenance based on company standards and original manufacturer's specifications.
The individual will be responsible for the following administrative tasks: ordering and receiving required replacement parts, completing personal timesheets and expense accounts, and maintaining a company vehicle. The position requires acting as a company representative when interacting with contractors and vendors. The individual will be required to work effectively in a team atmosphere. A typical work schedule is Monday through Thursday, ten hours per day. This position requires a significant amount of overnight travel, working other than normal hours, overtime, schedule changes, and the ability to respond to call-outs.
The individual will be working in an industrial environment which includes engine rooms and auxiliary buildings. This position requires the individual to follow all safety policies so that tasks and assignments are completed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, with an emphasis on finishing each day injury and incident free.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess the following behavioral competencies, education, and/or experience:
Technical skills should include strong mechanical aptitude, preferably with two or more years of experience in heavy maintenance of reciprocating and turbine engines, natural gas compressors, auxiliary engines, and related equipment.
Individual should be able to: lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds; exert up to 100 pounds of physical force; stand, walk, kneel, bend and squat for extended periods of time; work in areas classified as confined space; climb and work from ladders, catwalks, staging, and platforms; work with hands above head; work lying on back; and work in adverse weather and extreme temperature conditions.
Strong communication and analytical skills are required.
Individual should possess intermediate computer skills in order to document and communicate effectively with PC applications such as email, Maximo, Excel, and Company specific programs.
Position requires a valid drivers license and physical ability to perform the above duties.
Individual should be a self-starter, capable of effectively working in a team environment, following company procedures, and meeting schedules.
