Job Description
Welds metal components with a variety of arc and gas welding equipment, Sub Arc, TIG, MIG and Cladding to fabricate or repair of valves and pressure containing parts, machine parts, and plant equipment. Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding. Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts. Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. Locates and repairs cracks in parts as required.
Must be able to pass welding qualification tests for each required WPS. Must be a self starter, motivator and work well with others, be willing to work within all other departments as needed. Ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working condition, ensure that all equipment is in good safe working condition at all times, must be able to cross train and work in a safe manner at all times.
Job Requirements/ Qualifications
5-7 years experience with STICK, MIG, TIG and Sub-Arc welding equipment, arc gouging processes, welding positioners and manipulators and oxygen/acetylene torches. Experience with welding low alloy steels and stainless steel, as well as cladding of low alloy steel with Inconel. Must have the ability to build up surfaces on metal castings and forgings. Capable of identifying metals and their weldability. Experience with proper operation of stress relief ovens required. High school diploma or GED preferred.
