Position Description:
[Company]is one of the world's largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies, with corporate offices in The Woodlands, Texas. [Company]'s mission is to deliver a competitive and sustainable rate of return to Shareholders by developing, acquiring and exploring for oil and gas resources vital to the world's health and welfare.
Qualifications:
This position requires a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, preferably in oil and gas accounting. Strong Microsoft Office usage (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with an emphasis in Excel is required. Experience with SAP accounting systems is also preferred. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with external representatives. Demonstrated leadership skills in a team environment are also required. Additional requirements of the position are 10 key proficiency, strong analytical and research skills, and the ability to produce results under tight deadlines. This position requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles. A strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are also required. The ability to generate solutions to complex issues and to approach problems from both a technical and business perspective is required.
Education:
Candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
Grade and salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience.
Certifications/Licenses:
CPA is preferred
Relocation:
This position is eligible for domestic relocation.
Travel Requirements:
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10%
Work Schedule:
This position is eligible for the 9/80 work schedule.
This position is on a 40 hour / week schedule Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:
Revenue booking of Company assets in the Rockies region; including operated, non operated and royalty wells.
Reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet and income statements
Participating in accounting and audit projects as required
Assisting in litigation support and responses to audit requests
Working with the SAP team in data conversion, testing, training and implementation
Providing work direction, training and mentoring to specialists and less experienced accountants for projects and daily tasks
Interfacing with internal and external clients
Maintaining effective internal controls within assigned level of responsibility, consistent with the company’s policies and procedures.
