Location: Houston, Texas, United States

Responsibilities:
Research available subsea hardware options as well as stay abreast of current design qualification efforts in the industry in order to implement them into the field architecture
Develop innovative subsea design, inventions, patents, technologies and present these in white papers and at industry trade shows
Generate cost effective field architecture design, interface with Pipeline, Flow Assurance, Riser Analysis, Marine, etc. as applicable
Assign procurement packages and supervise packages of less experienced engineers
Check specs, datasheets, reports, technical notes, procedures, instructions and notes to Bidders, RFQ and procurement packages for PO award and material requisitions, and bid evaluations
Provide bid engineering support and prepare CTR related to subsea design and installation
Provide marketing support to the business development group
Provide offshore support as required for the project
Stay updated on McDermott ISO 9001 procedures
 
Experience / Qualifications:
Professional engineering experience in the offshore subsea industry
Minimum BS degree in Engineering; certification as a Licensed Professional Engineer is highly preferred
Familiar with field development scenarios, riser and subsea structure design and installation scenarios both in shallow and deep water, primarily in the GOM
Knowledgeable of subsea design codes (API, DnV, ASME, BS)
Able to demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems efficiently and economically
Ability to work on complex subsea projects with conflicting design requirements, unconventional materials or installation requirements
Must have good interpersonal skills and able to interface with Clients, Consultants, Vendors, drafting designer and other lead engineers on multi-discipline projects
Proficient on Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and organized in electronic data storage habits
Must have good writing and presentation skills; proficiency in project management
Excellent work ethic and maintain a good work attitude
