Role synopsis
Perform the customs clearance function, including but not limited to: documentation verification, customs clearance forms preparation and submission, and handling collection of customs cleared cargo to ensure effective delivery of company materials and cargo.
Key accountabilities
• Administratively supports the full customs process.
• Provides customs declarant analysis/reports related to suppliers and the market.
• Ensures that all customs declarant contract initiation and completion processes are fulfilled.
• Point of contact for the business with customs authorities.
• Liaison with suppliers and the business to ensure compliance and to assist resolution of all importation/customs issues.
• Liaison with Customs posts servicing [Company] operations.
• Ensure commodities are declared at the customs point in a timely and lawful manner, in full compliance with laws, rules, regulations and agreements.
• Keep all necessary records and statistics.
• Screens and reports on any regulatory and procedural changes in declaration process.
Essential criteria & qualifications
• Can demonstrate knowledge of customs/importation advisory experience
• Competent in the whole customs process including law and legislations, relevant protocols
• Minimum High School Certificate
• Excellent organization skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to work to deadlines
